I received a Dive Into Shapes Geometry Set from Learning Resources.  All opinions are my own.

I love teaching math in Kindergarten.  There are so many math concepts you can teach children using hands on activities.  The Dive Into Shapes Geometry Set from Learning Resources is a great example of this.

2D and 3D shapes are concepts that children learn in Kindergarten.  This is something I normally do not teach in depth until the 3rd quarter of the year (around February).  I was excited to see what my students would do with this activity set in our small group centers.

My student absolutely loved playing with the Dive Into Shapes Geometry Set.  They loved being able to build all the different shapes.  This set focuses more on 3D shapes but it does include instruction cards for some 2D shapes as well.  I loved watching my student use problem solving skills to make the different shapes.  This activity set was a huge hit in my classroom and I am excited to use it again, especially when we learn 2D and 3D shapes more in depth and detail.

This would be a great set to have at home with your younger children.  It is something that you can give to them to play with and explore.  They will have so much fun building the different shapes!
