“TRON: LEGACY is a 3D high-tech adventure set in a digital world that’s unlike anything ever captured on the big screen. Sam Flynn (GARRETT HEDLUND), the tech-savvy 27-year-old son of Kevin Flynn (JEFF BRIDGES), looks into his father’s disappearance and finds himself pulled into the digital world of Tron where his father has been living for 25 years. Along with Kevin’s loyal confidant Quorra (OLIVIA WILDE), father and son embark on a life-and-death journey of escape across a visually-stunning cyber universe that has become far more advanced and exceedingly dangerous.”
I am a HUGE fan of the original Tron film that was released in 1982. I was very excited when a couple of years ago they announced that a sequel was being made. I knew that with the new movie technology that is being developed every day that this sequel could be truly epic. I will tell you now as a true Tron fan, I was not disappointed!
The special effects in this movie were incredible. It was a visually stunning movie to watch. I was captivated the whole film. One of the most recognizable things from the original movie were race cars called ‘light cycles.’ The new and redesigned light cycles in Tron: Legacy were awesome. During the light cycle races I was ‘nerding’ out in my head. It was so cool especially in IMAX 3D. The movie filled the huge screen and the sound quality was amazing. This is one awesome movie to watch in IMAX.
The performances by the cast were excellent. Jeff Bridges was fun to watch returning as Kevin Flynn but I enjoyed him more as the villain, C.L.U. Garrett Hedlund was good as Sam Flynn, the main character, and our ‘guide’ through the film. My favorite though was Olivia Wilde’s performance as Quorra. She did fantastic as a program and brought ‘humanity’ to her character.
So overall, I am telling everyone to go and see Tron: Legacy. I loved it and will definitely be going to see it again. Tron: Legacy is one of my favorite movies I have seen this year!
Tron: Legacy gets bragging rights!

**I attended an advanced screening of Tron: Legacy in IMAX 3D for this review.
