I received tickets to this show for my review. All opinions are my own.
Greg Heffley is in survival mode. All. The. Time. From bullies to his big brother to his height-challenged stature, he’s the wimpy kid we can all relate to. The beloved series hits the stage in a brand-new musical with Rowley, Manny, and of course, Rodrick joining in the mayhem. A ridiculous amount of fun for anyone who has survived, is surviving, or hopes to survive middle school, inspired by the award-winning and bestselling book series.
By now, you’ve no doubt heard about Greg Heffley and the amazing book series Diary of a Wimpy Kid. And if you have a kiddo that reads- I’m sure you know ALL about him. The books are amazing, and such a great way to get children interested in reading.
But whether your child has read each book in the series, or has never even heard of it, he or she is sure to LOVE the musical that the Children’s Theatre Company is currently playing! My 7 year old has actually never read the books, but the very next day after this musical we hit up the library and got numbers 1 and 2! (Again- great way to get those kiddos interested in reading- jump start with a trip to see it LIVE!)
You will NOT be disappointed by this amazing musical.
First of all, my son Harrison and I had so much fun going out on a date! It’s so great to have an excuse to go out to dinner and spend quality time together- just the two of us- spending the night at the Children’s Theatre Company is a treat for the whole family, or just a part of it!
I have honestly never been so impressed with a theatre production for children. It was phenomenal. And it’s kind of like the animated movies of this generation- there’s plenty of humor in it for the parents as well as the kiddos! It was HILARIOUS. We were laughing the whole time. The set design was so creative and interesting. The music was spectacular (everyone was singing the catchy tunes on our way out). And the acting and singing! I was so taken aback. These kids acted far beyond my expectations. I felt proud of them, even though I didn’t know them. (I really must be a mom, huh?) I was entertained from start to finish, and more importantly, so was my little guy! I love Children’s Theatre Company because there isn’t a bad seat in the house. The seats are inclined well so that everyone has a good view (if you’ve ever taken kids to a live production before, you know this is important). Not only for little children, but I myself am a very short individual and at some theaters have to duck my head back and forth around tall people.
We had so much fun, and we know you will too! Be sure to purchase your tickets today!
