Once the camera is installed and you’ve downloaded the app, you’re basically good to go. As a video monitor, it functions with a great picture quality as well as two-way audio. I love that you don’t need the app up on your phone or tablet to hear the audio- you can use your phone any way you want and still hear baby. It’s easy to turn the audio on and off, and it allows you to talk/soothe your baby!

On top of it’s regular functions, it is a baby breathing video monitor. No wires or wearables needed. It gives a breathing graph of your baby’s movement and then their breathing patterns. You will get a real-time alert if your baby starts to breathe irregularly. Let me repeat that- You will get an ALERT IF YOUR BABY STOPS BREATHING. That is absolutely, stunningly amazing. The Cocoon Cam holds the potential to save your child’s life. The utmost important piece of equipment you may ever purchase.

Isn’t the picture quality great? Obviously this is with the lights on, but it’s just amazing. I love this second photo- I told her to “close her eyes and pretend she’s sleeping” =) I love that it not only gives you the breathing patterns, but it is a great record of when you put the baby in the crib, when they were moving around and still awake, and when the monitor detected “low movement” meaning they fell asleep. No more wondering what time baby went down! It’s all right there for you.

Anyone can use the app that you allow to, so this works with babysitters or grandparents as well! And even better, if you are away but your child is home with a caregiver, you can still pull up the app and watch them sleep in real time! How great is that?

We are so pleased with this camera in every way, and I love that it is going to give me more peace of mind when our newest baby arrives.
