I attended an advanced screening for my review. All opinions are my own.
“Director Elizabeth Banks takes the helm as the next generation of fearless Charlie’s Angels take flight. In Banks’ bold vision, Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinska are working for the mysterious Charles Townsend, whose security and investigative agency has expanded internationally. With the world’s smartest, bravest, and most highly trained women all over the globe, there are now teams of Angels guided by multiple Bosleys taking on the toughest jobs everywhere. The screenplay is by Elizabeth Banks from a story by Evan Spiliotopoulos and David Auburn.”– ©Columbia
When I first heard they were remaking Charlie’s Angels, I was curious but really nervous. Then I heard Elizabeth Banks was directing it and that made me excited. Although it is not the best movie I have ever seen, I had a lot of fun watching Charlie’s Angels.
I thought that the cast was great together. Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinska had great chemistry together. The supporting cast was great. I really enjoyed Elizabeth Banks and Patrick Stewart as well.
This movie had fantastic action scenes. I felt like the Angels in the version were tougher and more developed as secret agents than previous films.
This movie definitely has a very forward feminist and girl power message to it. I thought the storyline worked well but some of the lines in the movie were really corny.
Overall, if you are looking for a fun, action film to watch, Charlie’s Angels would be a good pick.
Charlie’s Angels is now playing in theaters. It is rated PG-13 for “action/violence, language, and some suggestive material.”
