Magna Color is a specially designed magnetic drawing studio with a screen sweeper that impressed industry guru Dr. Toy who named it one of her Top 10 Creative Toys for 2012.
My 5 year old Bug loves drawing and making art projects so I couldn’t wait to see how he liked the Magna Color 3D Art Board.
“With four different colors to choose from, let the drawing begin. Insert a stencil onto the design board or make your own design — then use the Magic Dot Pens to draw colorful works of art. When the masterpiece is complete, get ready for the WOW factor by putting on the 3D UltraVision Glasses. The images seem to pop off the screen! Ready to draw again? Clear dots with the Screen Swiper. Then gently shake and sort different colored dots back into the correct pens. Voila! The initial set comes with 4 Magic Pens and 160 Magic Dots.”
It is simple and easy to swipe the dots back into the back of the Magna Color Board using the screen sweeper. Once there you shake them down and load them into the pens. 5 year old Bug can usually do this all by himself but sometimes has a hard time loading the pens into place on the back and occasionally needs help with that.
Watch this video to see how it works:
Bug has been enjoying his Magna Color Board and has played with it almost everyday since it arrived. He especially thinks it’s fun to view his art work with the 3D glasses I love that it is a mess free way for him to enjoy making works of art.
It comes with 4 pens with 4 colors of dots: red, green, orange, and yellow. There is a spot for pink and blue pens and dots (but this set doesn’t come with those, they can be purchased in additional design packs). It comes with 2 under the sea papers which are double sided providing 4 designs to use with the dots. He can also draw with the dots right on the black board and create a design from scratch.

Tech 4 Kids wanted me to mention this as well: “A small quantity of product shipped this past summer included malfunctioning pens. As a company dedicated to high quality product, Tech 4 Kids, the manufacturers of MagnaColor, would like anyone with malfunctioning pens to contact them at the following email: toys@tech4kids.com for a set of free replacement pens and dots.”
