In my family toys have become the number one reason for my children to fight. I have found that I have to either buy multiples of 1 type of toy or buy toys where my children can play together. When I was asked to review the B-Damon Crossfire Break Bomber Battlefield Set I accepted as soon as I found out it was a toy that my children could enjoy together. Taylor was the son my husband and I decided to surprise with the set. It was no surprise when he was excited about it and could not wait for us to get the box open. What was a little surprising was that my daughter was right there next to him, just as excited, waiting to get her hands on one of the action figures to fight it out on the battlefield!
The B-Damon Crossfire Break Bomber Battlefield Set is a 2 player game that children can play against one another. There is also an online website where you can customize your fighter even more. The set includes a battlefield, 2 B-Daman figures, 10 marbles for each player, a customization tool, and 2 collector cards to use online. There is assembly required but in my family that is what daddy is for! I watched and took pictures as my husband tried to assemble the battlefield while my 2 year old would steal parts so that he thought he was losing his mind. I think that is the fun part for mommy!
The B-Daman Fighter Figures that come with the set are blue and white. Each one comes with a wide magazine that holds 10 marbles so you do not have to reload as often. You stack the blocks in the middle of the battlefield and the object of the game is to shoot 3 red blocks into enemy territory. It is really not as easy as it looks. We had a little trouble with the springs that help to shoot the marbles, staying where they were supposed to. Not that my 4 year old son was gentle in any way with his fighter figure and I know my 2 year old was handling the fighters like they were made of steel. They had a lot of fun shooting and throwing marbles at each other and I honestly could not tell you if they cared about what the actual rules of the games were. In my humble opinion the reason you buy a toy is for your child’s entertainment and enjoyment. Both of those expectations were met for my children and that means success! There were no damages that a little super glue could not make a quick fix of so that they could continue their attacks on each other!
Hasbro recommends that the B-Daman Crossfire Break Bomber Battlefield Set is not intended for children under 3 because of the small marbles that are included. The age range the set is recommended for is ages 6 and up. We made sure to monitor what our children were doing with the marbles and no one put them up any nostrils or in any mouths! Although the B-Daman Crossfire Break Bomber Battlefield Set could have been made a little more sturdy I was clearly not following the age range that the actual set was made for. The collector cards that come with the set can be scanned into the online app that your children can download. We did not actually download the application but once you scan the figures on your trading cards you can then customize them even more. My oldest son, who is 12, is the one that took the trading cards and downloaded the application. He has been having fun with application online. Out of my 4 children he is the one that is old enough to enjoy taking fighter figurine toys and customizing them in the virtual world. This set really did have something for each member of my family to enjoy. Even the baby was giggling watching daddy go crazy looking for the pieces that Juliana was hiding from him. I am glad to have had the opportunity to review this set because it turned a snow day into a family fun day!
