I attended an advanced screening of this film. All opinions are my own.
“Bohemian Rhapsody is a foot-stomping celebration of Queen, their music and their extraordinary lead singer Freddie Mercury. Freddie defied stereotypes and shattered convention to become one of the most beloved entertainers on the planet. The film traces the meteoric rise of the band through their iconic songs and revolutionary sound. They reach unparalleled success, but in an unexpected turn Freddie, surrounded by darker influences, shuns Queen in pursuit of his solo career. Having suffered greatly without the collaboration of Queen, Freddie manages to reunite with his bandmates just in time for Live Aid. While bravely facing a recent AIDS diagnosis, Freddie leads the band in one of the greatest performances in the history of rock music. Queen cements a legacy that continues to inspire outsiders, dreamers and music lovers to this day.” –©20th Century Fox
I am a big fan of Queen. I loved their music and I have been so excited to see Bohemian Rhapsody. I loved this movie.
I felt like I was watching a Queen concert. The last several minutes of the film is a recreation of their famous Live Aid performance. There was so much great music in the film. I loved being able to see the group’s history and creative process shown on screen.
One of the main reasons to see this film is the incredible performance by Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury. As I was watching the film, I truly believed he was Freddie Mercury. I thought his performance was perfection. I hope he receives some award recognition for this role.
Bohemian Rhapsody is rated PG-13 “for thematic elements, suggestive material, drug content, and language.” This movie definitely earns its rating. There is a lot of partying, drugs, and some sexual material. I think this movie is appropriate for adults and older teens. In my opinion, I would definitely leave little kids home.
I loved Bohemian Rhapsody. I would definitely watch it again.
