Peter Berg produces and directs Battleship, an epic-scaled action-adventure that unfolds across the seas, in the skies and over land as our planet fights for survival against a superior force. Inspired by Hasbro’s classic naval combat game, Battleship stars Taylor Kitsch as Lt. Alex Hopper, a Naval officer assigned to the USS John Paul Jones; Brooklyn Decker as Sam Shane, a physical therapist and Hopper’s fiancée; Alexander Skarsgård as Hopper’s older brother, Stone, Commanding Officer of the USS Sampson; Rihanna as Petty Officer Raikes, Hopper’s crewmate and a weapons specialist on the USS John Paul Jones; and international superstar Liam Neeson as Hopper and Stone’s superior (and Sam’s father), Admiral Shane.
I was excited to see Battleship. Watching aliens take over the world sounded like fun to me. I also love movies with great effects and explosions. Plus, Liam Neeson is in this movie. I was ready to watch this film.
Overall, I had a lot of fun watching Battleship. This movie really does not have much of a plot. All this movie is about is that aliens are trying to take over the world and they need to be stopped. The only people that can are some Navy Destroyer ships that are located nearby. What this movie does have though is some great effects and explosions. Lots of awesome explosions.
For me, I had a lot of fun just watching things explode for 2 hours. The movie did drag a bit in the middle but the last fourth of movie was full of lots of action and moved rather quickly.
If you love movies with action, aliens, and explosions this is the movie for you!
