I love having Amazon Prime. Besides the free 2 day shipping (which I love), I also like having access to so many great movies, TV shows, and music. But one thing I didn’t realize I also could take advantage of was the Amazon Cloud Drive.
Amazon Cloud Drive is included with your Amazon Prime membership and you get unlimited storage for photos and 5 GB of additional storage for videos and files.
I love how Amazon makes it really easy to upload and view your Amazon Cloud photos. You can just use the Amazon Photo app. This app is available for both Androis and iOS and it automatically backs up all your photos to your Amazon Cloud Drive. This is so great since I take so many photos of my kids and for my blog, having them stored somewhere else frees up a lot of much needed space on my phone and my iPad. I also like knowing that all of my precious pics of my family are safely stored online, so if something bad happens to my phone, I won’t lose all those wonderful memories.
You can also transfer existing pictures from your computer or hard drive. It is so simple and I love that I can just drag and drop them to upload.
It is also nice to be able to easily share full size photo files with friends and family using the Amazon Cloud Drive. I can send the pictures Grandma has been asking for and she gets the full quality photo files easily. And the sharing links are private so all your images only get shared with who you want.
As a blogger it is so nice having Amazon Cloud Drive because all of my photos upload automatically and I can just log in and grab the photos I need for blog posts. It is so much easier than having to connect my phone to my computer and upload the photos I need for a post. It saves me so much time!
If you don’t have Prime or want more storage, Amazon recently announced two unlimited storage plans, both start with a free 3-month trial:
- Unlimited Everything Plan ($59.99 per year—equivalent of less than $5 per month): Store an infinite number of new and existing photos, videos, files, documents, movies, and music in Cloud Drive.
- Unlimited Photos Plan ($11.99 per year—equivalent of less than $1 per month): Similar to the Prime member benefit – non Prime members can also store an infinite number of photos in Cloud Drive without worrying about taking up space on phones, cameras, or other devices. This plan also includes 5 GB of additional storage for videos or other documents and files.
