"Giving life to objects and used furniture” is the concept that develops Alessandra Roveda, landing in the very unusual creations. Strands of wool, cotton, nylon, acrylic, silk sheets but also torn plastic bags reduced to strips, cables, string, wire, these are the materials that the artist uses to coat objects, using the technique of crochet.
According to a blog called myhomedocorationideas, one day her path crossed the magical world of Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, who, appreciating the originality, decided to give space to the creativity of the artist, organizing the event "Maravilla".
So the store of Agatha Ruiz de la Prada opened its doors to the surreal world of Alessandra Roveda, with an explosion of colors, shapes and materials. Among the various creations on display, was presented with the chair back in the shape of heart, emblematic piece of the show.
Each object is recreated and reinterpreted by a coating of colored points. The used yarns are largely recovered in cellars, attics of grandmothers, aunts, mothers of friends and friends of friends, helping to give a vintage feel to all the creations. Alessandra recovers ancient items and sets them to more contemporary tastes and they become practical crafts, such as crocheting, in a real artistic technique.
