“Love is in the air as Charlie Brown and the rest of the Peanuts gang make plans to celebrate the upcoming Valentine’s Day holiday. It’s the most romantic time of the year and everyone has big hopes of having their dreams of love and friendship fulfilled. Charlie Brown once again finds himself wishing he had the courage to ask the Little Red-Haired Girl to the dance. While he pines away for her, Peppermint Patty and Marcie do their best to woo him.
Unrequited love abounds with the Peanuts gang. Lucy demands kisses and chocolates from Schroeder to no avail. Sally is intent on making Linus her sweet bab oo. Snoopy has taken to writing bad poetry on his typewriter. Charlie Brown and his pals may be unlucky in love but they are fortunate in friendship in this heartfelt holiday treat.”
I have always loved the Peanuts cartoons and was very excited to receive A Charlie Brown Valentine on DVD. I remember watching the Peanuts cartoons when I was little and was excited to see one that I had not seen before. These are some of the newer Peanuts cartoons that have been made.
A Charlie Brown Valentine was very funny to watch. Charlie Brown wants to find and ask the Little Red-Haired Girl to the Valentine’s dance. Peppermint Patty and Marcie have other ideas though. If you are familiar with these two characters, you know these girls will not give up! I loved watching this because it reminded me of the times when I was little and had a crush on that cute boy at school.
The only bonus feature on the DVD is another special episode called Someday You’ll Find Her, Charlie Brown. This is my favorite episode of the two on the DVD. Charlie Brown is watching a football game on the tv and sees a cute little girl in the crowd at the game. He is determined that he is in love with this little girl and is determined to find her no matter what. Charlie Brown convinces Linus to go with him on a journey to find this little girl. I have to say that Linus is a great friend because he does most of the work. Snoopy and Woodstock also get involved in the journey and it is hilarious. I thought that this was a very clever episode with a surprising ending.
Overall, if you are a Peanuts fan, this is a great addition to your family DVD collection.
A Charlie Brown Valentine gets bragging rights!
