I was invited for an expenses paid trip to LA by Disney to cover the #VeryBadDayEvent and #DisneyInHomeEvent in exchange for my posts of the trip experiences. All opinions are my own.
The very special night when we got to tour Walt Disney’s Estate, we also got a behind the scenes sneak peek of the Bonus Features for the Diamond Edition of Sleeping Beauty.
We got to sit down with David Jessen who is the Vice President of Content Enhancement, and he showed us a sneak peek of what we could expect on the bonus features for this release.
It was extra special because we got to sit in Walt Disney’s screening room in his Los Feliz Estate.
Hours of Beauty-ful Bonus:
- 3 deleted scenes
- The Art of Evil: Generations of Disney Villains
- DisneyAnimation Artists in Motion- Extended Edition
- Once Upon a Parade-Join Sarah Hyland from ABC’s Modern Family as she tells us the tale of Walt Disney World’s New Festival of Fantasy Parade
- Beauty-oke- Sing Along
- Picture Perfect: The Making of Sleeping Beauty
- Eyvind Earle: A Man and His Art
I have a pre-release copy of Sleeping Beauty and have now had the chance to see the bonus features in their entirety. I really enjoyed watching them. They are fascinating, interesting and fun. I have always been a fan of Sleeping Beauty since I was a child and so I really enjoyed getting some behind the scenes looks through these bonus features.
There are deleted scenes which were very cool to watch and I found them interesting because I noticed some of the elements in them are similar to some of the things in the Maleficent movie. Maybe they provided some inspiration for that film? I think so…You will have to watch them and let me know what you think in the comments below.
Here is a clip of the bonus feature “The Art of Maleficent”
We were so lucky to have a special guest appearance by ABC Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland. She is a part of a special feature called “Once Upon a Parade”. She tells us the story of the new Festival of Fantasy Parade at Walt Disney World. It is really cute and fun. Check out a sneak peek of it in this clip…
Talking with Sarah Hyland
We had the chance to talk with her a little bit and she told us she really enjoyed the experience of making the bonus feature and she felt like she was in a Fairytale, dressed up walking around Fantasyland in Disney World. She said she thought the kids in the feature were adorable and fun to work with. Her favorite part of filming was being in the costume and she told us that it was actually her own costume that she had brought in.
We asked her who her favorite Disney Princess is and she said she can’t choose just one but has been a fan of so many princesses growing up, and even characters that weren’t princesses like Megara from Hercules. We also asked her if she had to choose between Disney World and Disneyland which would be her favorite? She said she loves both for different reasons but has a strong connection with Disneyland since she grew up near it and because of the history and the fact that Walt Disney built it himself.
She is a nice and very cute girl and we enjoyed our chance to talk with her.
We got a group photo with her before we left.
At the end of the night we were given this fabulous goodie bag! Stay tuned for my review of the fabulous Sleeping Beauty & Maleficent makeup from Disney Consumer Products.
