Unmissable Spots in NYC When You’re On a Time Crunch

This post is brought to you by Mary Johnson.

New York City is a unique and bustling city that everyone should experience at least once in their lives. To extensively explore the whole city, you’d need weeks. Since not everyone has this luxury and so much time on their hands, here is a quick guide of the spots not to miss when you can’t stay in the city for long.

The Chrysler Building

The Chrysler Building is an Art Deco skyscraper that for a short period of time was actually the world’s tallest building; today it is an office building. It was once the tallest building in NYC before the Empire State Building surpassed it, but it is still a site to see and to enter the lobby to check out the inside of the popular building.

The Empire State Building

The Empire State Building is the iconic attraction that most first think of when they imagine New York City. It is a site to see from the ground looking up, and you can head up to the observation deck on the 86th floor for 360 views of the city from above.

Central Park

Central Park is a span of green in a city of concrete, with added park features of fountains, sculptures, monuments and open spaces. It draws over 25 million guests every year and is a definite spot to visit during your time in NYC. Grab some lunch at a market and go for a picnic with a walk to follow in Central Park to take it all in.

One World Trade Center

NYC was forever impacted by 9/11 and to visit the One World Trade Center is an experience. Where the original two towers used to stand, there is a tribute set with waterfalls and the dedicated building itself.

Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Metropolitan Museum of Art, located in Manhattan, is one of the most-visited museums in the world. Referred to as The Met, it is popular for those interested in art history and the studio arts. Amongst the incredible pieces here, you’ll see artworks from the Renaissance period up to modern-day paintings.

Rockefeller Center

The Rockefeller Center is a complex of different buildings located in Midtown. It is famous for its art in the buildings, and plenty of activities that the area hosts. If you visit during the winter, you can head here to go ice-skating in the center of Rockefeller Plaza. There is also the famous annual lighting of the Christmas Tree here.

Times Square

Times Square is another iconic spot in NYC. With its bright lights, shops, restaurants, and massive displays, this spot draws a lot of people and a lot of energy. It is where the famous New Year’s Eve ball drops, which makes it on many people’s bucket lists.

With so much to see and do, you want to maximum your time while in the city. Save time by not renting a car and getting stuck in traffic, and opt for the subway instead. You can also avoid long waits in lines by booking tickets online and planning ahead. A little bit of organization goes a long way when you are trying to make the most of your trip to NYC.
