Did you guys follow along on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram with my ridiculously awesome trip to NYC to preview the movie Ricki and the Flash? It was honestly amazing. I had never been to New York City before, and Sony spoiled us ROTTEN, so my trip was unbelievable.
After we screened the movie (stay tuned this week for a post about what I thought!) we walked out to a room with drinks, food, and make-up and hair artists. Seriously, am I dreaming?
The drink I had was called “The Ricki”, which had some ties to the movie. =) It was fabulous. The Mommy Bloggers got to chat, sip, munch, and be pampered- what more can a girl ask for?
I loved my Ricki-inspired braid, and I actually had forgotten hairspray for the trip, so I was so excited to have my hair straightened by someone else (what a treat!) and get some spray in it. =) The make-up was wonderful too. My bold lip color was exciting, and I loved feeling all done-up before we went for a dinner out in NYC.
In the movie, Ricki is very much just herself. She makes no excuses for her look and her style ,and that is definitely something we can all learn from. It’s more important that you be you, rather than try to fit in to everyone else’s ideas of how you should look. A huge thank you to “Ricki” for her inspiring style, and to Sony for such a great day getting to watch Ricki and the Flash and be pampered!
