Peaceable Kingdom This or That? Cooperative Game Review and Giveaway

I received these products for my review. All opinions are my own.

The object of This or That? is to discover fun and interesting things about the other players. Each token in the game bag has two questions – one on each side, and each question has two options – This or That. Most of the questions give you a choice between things you might like, such as “Pumpkin Pie or S’Mores?”. Other questions might give you a choice between things you might not enjoy, such as “Smelly or Slimy?”. In either case, you might really like both of the answers, or neither of them. That’s the catch – you HAVE to pick one answer!

Players take turns drawing tokens from the bag. Silently read your token and decide which side you want to answer. Read that question out loud. Decide what your answer is but don’t say it out loud! Each players guesses what they think your answer is. After all the players have guessed, reveal your answer and be honest! If you draw a black All Play token, read the question out loud, and everyone takes turns sharing their answer to the question.
Keep the token you drew and pass the bag along to the next player. The game ends when everyone has five This or That? tokens in front of them.
Why love this item:
This cooperative game is a great game to take on trips or to parties. It’s an excellent ice breaker and an fun way to get to know your family and friends better!

What is a cooperative game?
A cooperative game is a game where all players play together against a common obstacle, not against each other. In a cooperative game no one feels left out and everyone has fun! Peaceable Kingdom’s cooperative board games use familiar game mechanisms – spinning a spinner, matching cards, moving a token, strategizing a win! The difference is that players play together. Playing together helps kids in many ways – they experience shared decision-making, they build self-esteem, they learn to share, to feel compassion, and to work as a team. Playing cooperative games teaches kids to cooperate.

I am so excited to tell you about our FAVORITE new game from Peaceable Kingdom! I love the idea of cooperative games that don’t involve winning or losing, and my kids do too! The family game is very simple:

Players take turns drawing tokens from the bag. Silently read your token and decide which side you want to answer. Read that question out loud. Decide what your answer is but don’t say it out loud! Each players guesses what they think your answer is. After all the players have guessed, reveal your answer and be honest! If you draw a black All Play token, read the question out loud, and everyone takes turns sharing their answer to the question.
Keep the token you drew and pass the bag along to the next player. The game ends when everyone has five This or That? tokens in front of them.
We have started playing it often during dinner, and it’s an amazing way to connect! We usually just do one card per person, and use each side, and it’s a great way to get conversation going at the dinner table, and conversation flows very freely from then. This is such a great icebreaker for any situation. I love the bag and that it is portable- what a great road trip game!
Peaceable Kingdom has so many great games and toys available, and they make the very best gifts, be sure to check them out!
