Avoiding Those Horrible Pet Messes #ScienceHappens

I absolutely LOVE being a pet owner to 2 fantastic and super sweet dogs.  They are my fur babies and I consider them part of our family.  I love coming home from a long day busy day and having them waiting to cheerfully greet me.

As with parenting, with all the happy and fantastic times there are going to be stressful and messy times.  We have luckily only had a few accidents since potty training both dogs.  But even a potty trained dog can get sick in the middle of the night.  This happened to my boxer.  She snuck downstairs in the middle of the night and made a nightmare of a mess.  It was diarrhea and it was everywhere.  All over my carpet! Ewwwww! Ewwwww! Ewwww! It was so awful!  The worst part was, my husband woke up late that morning and had to rush out the door to an important meeting (he felt so bad).  So I was stuck cleaning it up all by myself. It was so nasty. I almost threw up a couple of times while I was cleaning it.

At least she is adorable, just look at that face!

Luckily I survived that horrific experience (without throwing up).  But it reminded me how important taking care of my dogs really is.  I can’t imagine having to deal with that regularly. So I make sure my dogs get seen when they are exhibiting issues such as diarrhea or gas.  As well as make sure they get their annual vet visits and that they are eating a proper and nutritious diet.

“When your dog has symptoms of an upset stomach (diarrhea, bad flatulence), it’s important to take him to your veterinarian so they can get to the bottom of their GI issue and prevent any more accidents at home. A wagging tail equals a happy dog!”-Royal Canin

“Science is the best way to look at every issue your dog may have. For more pet health nutrition information, go to http://clvr.li/1t1pBKg”
