Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day Movie Review ~ See it in Theaters Today #VeryBadDayEvent

I was invited for an expenses paid trip to LA by Disney to cover the #VeryBadDayEvent and #DisneyInHomeEvent in exchange for my reviews posts of the trip experiences.  All opinions are my own.

On my trip in LA I got to attend a pre-release screening of Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day at the Disney Studios theater.  I absolutely loved this movie!

“Disney’s “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day” follows the exploits of 11-year-old Alexander (Ed Oxenbould) as he experiences the most terrible and horrible day of his young life—a day that begins with gum stuck in his hair, followed by one calamity after another. But when Alexander tells his upbeat family about the misadventures of his disastrous day, he finds little sympathy and begins to wonder if bad things only happen to him. He soon learns that he’s not alone when his mom (Jennifer Garner), dad (Steve Carell), brother (Dylan Minnette) and sister (Kerris Dorsey) all find themselves living through their own terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. Anyone who says there is no such thing as a bad day just hasn’t had one.”-Disney

I grew up reading the Alexander Bad day book and so I was very excited for this movie. It exceeded all my expectations!

Steve Carell was hilarious in this movie (as usual) and Jennifer Garner did a fantastic job playing a very relatable working mom.  I loved seeing them together on screen and they did a great job of portraying a real family.  I wouldn’t have expected them to have such good chemistry, but they did.  They totally pulled it off.

The kids in the film are fantastic as well.  Ed Oxenbould as Alexander did a great job and Dylan Minnette (Anthony) and Kerris Dorsey (Emily) were great as his older brother and sister.  Even the baby was so adorable in this movie.

I thought this movie was very funny and laughed from beginning to end.  As a mom I could relate to so many aspects of the movie which made it even more enjoyable. Besides all the comedy in it, there is a great message.  That no matter what kind of day you have, your family is there for you to help you get through it.

I really love that it is wholesome movie you can take the whole family to, and everyone will enjoy it.  I am looking forward to seeing it again in theaters and taking my family with me.

If you are looking for a fun family movie with a good message, this is it!

This movie is rated PG.
