Over there you can experience the ancient connection and the history. The palace was named after ‘Ayodhya’ and ancient Indian kingdom.

Pottery Villages In Ko Kret
Kko Kret, celebrated for its terracotta pots and intricate handmade patterns, is a manmade island by the Mon people of Burma who ruled Thailand from the 6th to 10th century in the Chao Phraya river, approximately 8 miles from central Bangkok, and largely untouched by modern population and development. If you are coming here, then you are in on a relaxing pottery experience. One of the best things about this place is that it is far from the noise, traffic and signals of the capital city, Ko Kret only allows bikes and motorcycles on it’s single lane roads.
Once you are here, make sure to visit the Wat Poramai Yikawat temple that has a museum displaying ceramic and religious items. The temple has a humongous burmese style stupa and a marble Buddha statue. It is the largest temple on the island. If you want to explore around, renting a bicycle or a motorbike would be a great option.
Floating Market Of Damnoen Saduak
Located in the Ratchaburi province, 50 miles away from Bangkok, on the Damnoen Saduak Canal that links Mae Klong River with Tha Chin river, the floating market is a feast for the senses. From sizzling noodles to delicious Coconut milk ice cream, you will remember the delicacies over here for your lifetime. There are a few other floating markets around Bangkok, such as the Khlong Lat Mayom floating market, around 10 miles from the city centre. Still, the Damnoen Saduak floating market is considered to be the original one. The floating market can be traced back to the 1860s when King Rama IV was trying to establish commerce and boost the local trade of the region, deciding to set up the market. You will be amazed to see how the vendors will put bamboo on your boat and pull you up to their stalls whether you show any attention or not. The excitement of making a split second decision before you land up in front of the stall is something you should not miss out on.
Visit Nakhon Pathom’s Iconic Stupa
Located around 40 miles west of the capital, the historic Nakhon Pathom is a quiet and laid-back spot mostly frequented by locals. It has some amazing night markets offering you lip-smacking street food. The iconic Phra Pathom Chedi stupa is one of the tallest in the whole Asia maxing out at an height of 120m or 394 ft. This famous shrine, originally found in the 6th century has been remodeled over and again to its current face. A Khmer-styled temple tower was constructed in the 11th century, which was ruined by the Burmese invaders, until 1860 when the current bell-shaped stupa was constructed.
Wat Sam Phram Temple
The Wat Sam Phran Temple is a well-known 17-storey temple 25 miles away from the city, in Nakhon Pathom. After reaching there, you will understand the contrast of the situation as it is completely opposite of the other tourist destinations, with only a few tourists taking the off beat path to reach here. With all that the place has to offer, do not forget to take a look at the Serpent like creature which is the crown jewel here. It twists and turns around a pink cylindrical tower. If you feel adventurous at the sight of it, you can go into the cave inside the serpent which will lead you to the top of the temple. It states that every level of the cave will have show different stages of heaven, hence naming the cave as ‘The Stairway to heaven.’
