Winchester Cathedral is a living monument to the heritage of England and, by extension, is one of the most historically significant buildings in the entire British Isles. Twelve English kings are said to be buried within its walls. And with over 1,000 years of history at its foundation, you can feel the atmosphere and weight of history as soon as you step over the threshold.
The Cathedral is a place of worship and holds many exciting festivals, exhibitions and events throughout the year, including a Tower Tour, The English Cathedral art installation and numerous plays and concerts.
Currently, you can explore the Kings and Scribes: Birth of a Nation exhibition and get a closer look at the building and its roots through a Cathedral Tour.

But the real thrill comes from seeing these birds in action! You can experience the joy of holding one of the rare birds of prey, watch a world-class flying display or wander through the beautiful 22-acres of woodland and wildflower meadows.
On-site, you can take a sneaky peek at some of the charity’s ongoing rehabilitation work at the National Bird of Prey Hospital™, where sick, injured and orphaned raptors are cared for. After, wander down to the British Conservation Discovery Centre and learn about the excellent Raptor Nest Box Project (RNBP), run by Conservation Biologist Dr Matt Stevens.
