My first memories of cartoons from my childhood all include Tom And Jerry. I can remember spending saturday mornings with my brother watching cartoons together. My family makes it a point to spend one evening every week watching a movie on DVD together. When I was asked to review Tom and Jerry: The Lost Dragon I immediately accepted and got excited! I love sharing my childhood cartoons with my own children and making memories with them to remember when they get older and have their own children.
Tom and Jerry: The Lost Dragon on DVD arrived fairly quickly. I was excited to show my boys the DVD first because it was about dragons and they LOVE fire-breathing dragons! My 5 year old grabbed the DVD and nearly ripped my hand off taking it to the family room. My daughter was not far behind him. When all the snacks and drinks were ready and handed out, we sat down together and started the movie. Tom and Jerry: The Lost Dragon is a full length animated movie and normally we have to pause all full length movies to give my kids a bathroom break and a minute to stretch their legs. My younger kiddos have a hard time sitting still for so long normally. When I attempted to pause Tom and Jerry: The Lost Dragon my older boys (5 and 13) both got upset and started to get loud while protesting the intermission. Soon my 3 year old little girl was joining in. So my husband and I gave in and pushed play again. That was one of the only times my kids have ever been able to watch an entire movie without getting up for a small break at some point. They loved how funny Tom and Jerry were. My daughter was wanting to watch the baby dragon find its mommy and she loves when a song starts to play. She pretended she knew the songs and was “Singing” along.
My boys loved the adventure and magic. The fact that there was a fire-breathing mommy dragon that was furious someone stole her baby had them giggling. It is always funny to watch all the slapstick comedy between Tom and Jerry but it has only gotten better and funnier over the years.
Tom and Jerry: The Lost Dragon has definitely become one of my new favorite Tom and Jerry Adventures if not my number one favorite. I strongly reccomend giving Tom and Jerry: the lost dragon a try!
“Everyone’s favorite cat and mouse duo is back with song, sorcery and slapstick in this enchanted tale. The adventure begins when Tom and Jerry happen upon a mysterious glowing egg. With the help of powerful allies and animal friends, Tom and Jerry must fight tooth and claw to stop the witch and get the baby dragon back to its mother.
