This summer promises to be more stressful than usual. With lingering pandemic restrictions, you and your kids may be more stuck at home than you’d like. Between online schooling, trying to work from home and managing your household, it’s important to find ways to relax.
One of the best things is to sit out in the sun and unwind with your favourite icy beverage. Everyone has their favorite, but some of the most popular choices are iced coffee, iced tea and lemonade. They’re simple to make, with lots of different brands and variations if you want to buy them.
Adding CBD to your beverage is a great way to kick it up a notch so you can enjoy your favourite summer drink. Cannabidiol (CBD) is a natural health supplement that has a number of useful health and wellness benefits. One of the most useful is being able to improve mental health by helping you relax physically and mentally.
CBD can be tricky to add into drinks, because it most often comes in the form of an oil which will just sit on top of most liquids. The first general tip for adding any CBD into any kind of drink is to look for water soluble CBD for sale. It comes in the form of a powder that mixes easily with drinks.
#1) Cold Brew Iced Coffee
Iced coffee is a very popular summer drink. Making iced coffee yourself can help you save a few bucks every day, which can add up through the summer. The best and easiest method to make your own iced coffee that’s infused with CBD is to cold brew it.
Cold brew coffee has two advantages. It’s easy to make, and it comes out less bitter than hot coffee. This is because boiling water brings out the bitterness of the coffee beans. To cold brew coffee, you grind your coffee beans of choice so they’re coarse. Then, combine with the right amount of water and a dose of water soluble CBD that suits the amount of coffee you’re making.
Let it sit in a pitcher in your fridge overnight. The coffee beans and CBD will slowly infuse with the water, which will concentrate the coffee as a result. The flavour and potency of the coffee comes out quite strong as well, as well as having an almost sweet-taste that works great over ice.
#2) Steeped Iced Tea
Making CBD iced tea follows a similar process. Iced tea is another popular summer beverage, and loose-leaf iced tea has become more common in the past decade with the rise of specialty tea shops like David’s Tea. The best type of tea to steep into iced tea is either green or white tea.
Take your loose-leaf tea, using one tea-spoon per eight ounces of water. Mix your hemp leaves or water soluble CBD powder and mix it in as well. Let it sit in your pitcher in a fridge overnight, so there is enough time for all of the flavour of the tea and the compounds of the CBD infused together with the water. Serve on ice, and you’re good to go.
#3) Iced Lemonade
You don’t always want caffeine, or maybe you’re not a fan of coffee or tea. You could also just want something more sweet, which is why lemonade is also a very popular summer drink. It’s not too difficult to make your own CBD lemonade, including more natural lemonade using real lemons.
First, to make it sweet you can mix one to two cups of sugar (depending on how sweet you want it) with one cup of water into a sauce pan. Bring it to a boil and then remove it from the burner immediately. Mix the sugar with the water so it will fully dissolve with the water. Let it cool off completely, then mix in your water soluble CBD powder, cover it, and let it chill in the fridge overnight. This will create a sweet syrup.
Next, take either 1 ½ cups of lemon juice or the equivalent of real lemons and mix with the syrup. If you use real lemons, make sure you remove the seeds. Add seven cups of water and mix it all together.
If you want to infuse CBD into your other favourite drinks not mentioned above, you can follow the same principle used in all three. Mix in your water soluble CBD and let it steep in the fridge overnight. That will give it enough time to become completely infused with the drink.
