Dogs, in general, are not particularly picky eaters. However, you can imagine how appreciative they are of a tasty snack. Investing some time to make your furry friend a special treat will make them very happy. Especially if it’s a cool morsel during a hot summer.
Let’s look at five hassle-free recipes that will make your dog love you even more.
1. Peanut Butter and Banana Popsicles
Peanut butter isn’t only safe for dogs but it’s also a delicacy that they prefer. Make sure that the peanut butter you use for any dog recipe is without sugar and added sweeteners.
Furthermore, be extra careful that the peanut butter doesn’t contain xylitol. This sweetener can be dangerous for dogs and you should avoid it altogether.
You will find that the three recipes include peanut butter because it’s something your pet will love. Keep in mind though that with your doggy treats, you should exercise moderation with any ingredient.
To make this recipe, you’ll need 32 ounces of plain yogurt, one banana, two tablespoons of unsweetened peanut butter, a couple of dog biscuits, dixie cups and a third of a cup of water.
Start by taking the peanut butter, yogurt, chopped banana and water and put them in a blender. Mash the contents and pour the blend into dixie cups.
Snap your biscuits into pieces that you can place into each cup. Put them in your freezer and wait for the yummy popsicles to solidify.
2. Peanut Butter and Jelly Frozen Toast
Peanut butter and jelly is a classic snack for humans. It’s no surprise that your dog will appreciate the taste as well. For this treat, you’ll need a cup of strawberries, peanut butter and a quarter of a cup of water.
Cut the tops off the strawberries and put them into a blender along with the water. Blend it into a smooth mush. Place the puree into ice cube trays, filling the squared about three-quarters of the way.
Top the cubes off with some peanut butter and place the tray into the freezer. When the snack is completely frozen, you can pop the cubes out and serve.
3. Peanut Butter Carrot Bites
The third snack will need a cup of plain yogurt, a carrot and two tablespoons of peanut butter. Again, you will need an ice cube tray for this treat.
Mix the peanut butter with the yogurt and add a bit of water if the mixture is too thick. Slice up the carrot into pieces that you can place into each serving.
Fill the trays up with the mixture and place a piece of carrot in each cube. Freeze the snack until it’s solid and serves cold.
Use CBD for Dogs as a Secret Ingredient
CBD is a great ingredient for mixing up your treats and for giving your dog’s taste buds some variety. You can add solid CBD treats or in the ice cube trays to be frozen into the snacks. You can also add CBD as a tincture into your snack mixtures.
CBD for dogs includes options such as chews that can be given to your pet on their own as well as dog-safe, CBD-infused peanut butter. Give your dogs a calming snack that will provide all of the beneficial properties of CBD to your canine friend.
