I am literally still pinching myself… you may have seen a few of my Instagrams, FB posts, and tweets from the Hub Network’s 1st Annual Halloween Bash. Did that actually happen? I feel like I’m still in dreamland.
Hub was generous enough to fly me out to experience it all! We got to interview the guests on the “purple” carpet, watch the show tape live, and have a great Los Angeles experience. I think in all my 5 years of parenting, I’ve never been so sad to have to go home. =)
There was a group of us “mommy bloggers” from all over the country who got to share this experience together. We all met at a brunch hosted by Hub at our hotel. They sure know how to get the party started… with food! =)
Yum, right? It’s always nice to take a break from being the one who makes breakfast!
After we’d enjoyed the goodies, we had the pleasure of hearing Ted Biaselli talk passionately about his job as a Creative Director at the Hub TV Network.
He was so adorable, and easy to listen to. He obviously dearly loves the Hub network and his job. Theres nothing better than that. He was so excited about the Hub Halloween Bash. By the end of the morning we were all pumped up too!
Here’s a few of the things he shared with us {in quick mode}
- The Hub TV network just turned 3 years old! {They launched on 10/10/10}
- More kids and adults are watching Hub’s shows together than any other network
- They work hard to engage adults
- At night you can catch great shows like Step by Step and Alf… appropriate for kids, while still being entertaining for adults.
- They are passionate about creating more sitcoms and shows that will engage both kids and adults. Their goal is for Mom to walk in and say “Hey, It’s time for your favorite show! Well, and it’s mine too.”
- Even Jimmy Fallon has commented on the brilliance of R.L. Stein’s The Haunting Hour
- Young hollywood is fully embracing R.L. Stein’s The Haunting Hour, and love doing guest spots
Ted and I!
It’s safe to say that by the end I had fallen in love with the Hub network. Whats not to love about a network that works hard to entertain both my kids and I, and makes sure everything is appropriate for them? I love it.
When Hub decided they wanted to do a live special event, they asked themselves “What do we do well?” Their answer was easy- “We scare kids well!” So a huge, awesome halloween bash was quickly underway! They want us to all come together under the idea of a Happy Halloween. Their goal is for us to start to associate this spooky time of year with the Hub network. And trust me, you’ll want to, because they put on quite the bash!
We also got to talk a bit about the new big hit series they have launching soon- Spooksville!
When Adam moves to Springville with his dad, he quickly learns that everything isn’t as it seems. He teams up with two friends, Watch and Sally as they try to make sense of all the spooky things going on. Ted told us that the show is a bit like Erie, Indiana, mixed with a young X-files, with the spirit of the goonies.
He has so much confidence in the young actors… and so do I, because we got to meet both Keean Johnson {Adam} and Nick Purcha {Watch} on Sunday at the Hub Halloween Bash! They presented the award for the winning costume in the Spooktacular catagory.
You definitely don’t want to miss it- set your DVR recorders now!!!
Hub Network’s 1st Annual Halloween Bash is this Saturday, Oct. 26, 8 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT! Look for me. =) And don’t change that channel, because you won’t want to miss as Spooksville premieres their first episode right after!
Be looking for posts tomorrow as I catch you up on the rest of my weekend, and the awesome event itself!
