I attended an advanced screening of this film. All opinions are my own.
“Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus and the rest of the beloved “Peanuts” gang make their big-screen debut, like they’ve never been seen before, in state of the art 3D animation. Charlie Brown, the world’s most beloved underdog, embarks upon an epic and heroic quest, while his best pal, the lovable beagle Snoopy, takes to the skies to pursue his arch-nemesis, the Red Baron. From the imagination of Charles M. Schulz and the creators of the ICE AGE films, THE PEANUTS MOVIE will prove that every underdog has his day.” (C) Fox
I am a big fan of the classic Peanuts comic strips and movies. I was really nervous when they announced that they were making a 3D movie of Peanuts. I was worried it would lose its classic, traditional feel that I grew up with. After viewing the movie, I now realize that I did not need to worry. I loved The Peanuts movie.
I loved the sweet, simple, classic storylines that this movie had. It is the traditional Peanuts formula. Charlie Brown is trying to impress the Little Red Haired Girl and Snoopy is trying to defeat his nemesis, The Red Baron. The rest of Peanuts gang come along for the adventure.
The animation is great. Although it is made with the more modern computer animation, it still maintains the traditional Peanuts feel.
As I was watching this movie, I felt like a kid again. I was smiling ear to ear the whole movie. This would be a great movie to watch as a family. The kids will love it and some of them may be included to the Peanuts gang for the first time. For many of the parents, it will feel like you are hanging out with some old friends you have not seen for a while. Make sure you stay during the credits, there are fun sequences in the middle and at the end.
I viewed the film in 3D and I enjoyed the dimension it added, especially during the Red Baron and Snoopy flying sequences.
I loved The Peanuts Movie. It is a great family fun. I would love to see it again!
