When I was asked to review Feed the Woozle and Animal Sounds Match Up Game By Peaceable Kingdom Games I was more than happy to say yes. My kids are very competitive with each other. I really dislike it actually. I would much rather they learn how to work together towards a common goal then always trying to out do each other or be better than the other. It drives me crazy most days actually. Peaceable Kingdom Games are different in that way. They are games that are cooperative in nature. Instead of working to beat one another the players work together as a team in order to achieve the same goal. It is really a nice way to teach toddlers and younger children how working together can help accomplish many things. My kids love to play games in general so it was not a surprise that they were totally excited to play both games. We opened up Feed The Woozle first, and it was a really fun game for the kids. There are different ways to play it depending on the ages of the children that are participating. You want to work together to feed the Woozle 12 Silly Snack Tokens without dropping them. The level of difficulty changes depending on which rules you are following. For older kids they include a spinner wheel with different ways to make your walk to the Woozle more difficult. If you drop one of the Silly Snack Tokens then you do not get a Yummy Card. You need to collect 12 Yummy Cards as a team to make sure the Woozle is full and you all win!
The spinner has some fun action phrases written on it and if you land on one then you have to do them on your walk towards the Woozle. My daughters favorite action was to “Spin! Spin! Spin!”. She loved to get dizzy and then try to feed the Woozle his Silly Snack Token. It was really an enjoyable simple game to play but there were so many ways to make it silly and challenging in your own way. We decided to start a family game night because of how much fun we all had together. With the weather getting colder outside it was perfect timing since we needed to find more indoor activities for us to do.
The second game that we received was the Animal Sounds Match Up Game and Puzzle. This game is for children ages 2-6. As with the Feed The Woozle game, this game has a few different ruled games that you can choose to play depending on how old your children are. We decided to cater to my 2 year old with this game and do the easiest ruled one where the cards are face up. We actually ended up making our own little game because Juliana was being so silly playing the game.
We had so much fun calling out the animal noises and then finding the matching cards. You can also turn them over and play a game of memory. When you turn the cards over there is also a puzzle that you can put together too. So after we got tired of making animal noises and picking up the matching card sets, we decided to take a try at the puzzle on the back of the cards. That was a lot of fun even though we never got to finish! Juliana kept playing the game and picking up the cards while Taylor and I were trying to put it all together. It really is nice to just have some fun with your kids playing a game or putting a puzzle together. They are only this age once and it goes by so fast! I love making memories like that with them because I think it will stick in their heads for the rest of their lives.
They were very proud every time they matched a pair of animals. Taylors favorite animal was the Turkey because he loved to say “Gobble! Gobble! Gobble!”. Juliana loved the Doggy because it reminded her of our own Doggies.
We had a lot of fun playing these games but they are not the only games that Peaceable Kingdom Games has to offer. For more information on Feed The Woozle or Animal Sounds Matcb Up Game & Puzzle please visit www.peaceablekingdom.com.
