My daughter Leah and I were really excited when we were asked to review the new movie Free Birds! Leah saw the funny preview and immediately wanted to go. So we invited her friend to come with and they both though it was hilarious!
Free Birds is now in theaters in 3D and is rated PG. I think this cute movie is perfect for the family!
Free Birds is about Reggie the Turkey who was picked by the President of the United State to be the Pardoned Turkey. Reggie who is voiced by Owen Wilson is basically livin the high life in the white house. He isn’t going to be eaten and he gets to eat all the Pizza he wants! Then Reggie meets Jake who is voiced by Woody Harrelson and all of his comfy dreams go down the drain! You see Jake wants Reggie to travel back in time to the first Thanksgiving and save all of the Turkeys! But what Jake doesn’t know is that Reggie is scared of just about everything. So Reggie and Jake take a ride on their time machine named Steve and travel back in time. Leah really loved when they rode on Steve, she thought it was hilarious.
Once Reggie and Jake made it to the time before Thanksgiving, everything changed! Reggie met Jenny (voiced by Amy Poehler) a strong willed Turkey whose Father was the Chief of the Tribe of Turkeys. The Turkeys all banded together and decided to fight to save themselves! I loved the interaction between Reggie and Jenny it was so sweet. My most favorite part was how the tough man Jake interacted with the baby turkeys!
